Jim's Security - Ballarat Central

Central Victoria’s service, installation and monitoring of:

Hi, my name is Paul and I am the franchisee for Jim’s Security in Ballarat. Ballarat is a large area and I work in most of the suburbs around Ballarat Central including:

Addington | Ascot | Bakery Hill | Ballarat Central | Ballarat East | Ballarat North | Black Hill | Bonshaw | Buninyong | Cardigan Village | Delacombe | Eureka | Golden Point | Invermay Park | Lake Gardens | Lake Wendouree | Learmonth | Miners Rest | Sebastopol | Soldiers  Hill | Wendouree

People call Ballarat; Melbourne’s little brother. It makes me laugh, but it’s not exactly false. We’re really well established here. We have shops, restaurants, parks, attractions, and great coffee too! I guess it is a bit like a mini Melbourne. It’s one of those old cities, one of the originals, and in some ways, things haven’t changed, the buildings are big and grand and stand out because they are the main part of town.

I guess one drawback most people find (apart from the cold) is that there aren’t many jobs here. Most people are happy to drive to the city, it’s only an hour-and-a-half on the highway, or an easy train ride so you can make that trip easily, especially if you work part-time or you get to work from home a couple of days a week, which is getting to be pretty popular.

I think the atmosphere here is great for families since there are plenty of schools and a lot of students, as well. There are really great universities and everything is more affordable than in the city. The lake, the running tracks, and the gardens are attracting lots of people too, so I think Ballarat is going to keep growing.

What else? Well, craft beer! That’s probably another thing that really stands out in Ballarat if I’m allowed to say that.

The crime issues here are enough for you to want to have security installed, even just an alarm can make a difference with how you feel in your home and when you are away. I get a lot of requests for CCTV setup for pets because people are away so long they want to check on their “fur babies”, as they call them, while they are at work. Sometimes, they’ve just had puppies, so human mum wants to keep an eye on things. I like that even though they are doing it for other reasons, they are actually deterring thieves in the process because we make sure the external cameras are nice and visible.
